“It couldn’t happen to me!”
Statistics show that, on average during our lifetime, each of us can expect to be involved in two or three fires serious enough to call the fire department.
Whether your fires occur at home, at work or in a hotel, the same principles for survival apply.
Planning Ahead is Vital
People who have planned in advance what to do in a fire emergency and have the determination to survive are most likely to do so. Those who deny danger, feeling that fire will never happen to them, are most apt to succumb.
Our proactive and specialist approach involves us in developing and auditing Fire Risk Assessments and emergency planning procedures. This ensures that team members understand their responsibilities and the procedures they need to follow should the unthinkable happen.
Our fire safety training and establishment of testing procedures with your staff ensures your business complies with all legislative requirements, with an operational and practical focus. We work directly with your team to ensure that they are committed to making it happen.
Practice of procedures prevents PANIC!
Training Courses Available
Fire Warden Training
Enable your staff to manage a fire or other similar emergency efficiently and effectively, while also meeting the legal requirements to train staff. This course has been designed with the aim of creating a competent person to take charge in an emergency and be aware of fire risks within the workplace to reduce fire-associated hazards.
Fire Awareness Training
This training course is designed to give candidates an understanding of the actions to take in the event of discovering a fire or hearing the fire alarm sound in the workplace. Fire Safety training for staff is a legal requirement under the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006. This course is designed for all staff who require a basic understanding of fire safety, their legal responsibilities and how to use fire extinguishers.
Fire Extinguisher Training
We all know what they look like and we all think we would know how to use one in an emergency, but how many of us ever have? This course is aimed at enabling staff to develop the practical experience of using fire extinguishers and identifying fire risks associated with workplaces, to meet the legal requirements. This course has been designed with the core aim of creating a confident person to take charge in an emergency situation and be aware of fire risks in the workplace and reduce potential fire hazards. We include theoretical fire training in addition to practical extinguisher training. This allows staff to be aware of the risk of fire and to reduce the probability of fire. However, due to the work process, fires can happen and staff will be educated to deal with them safely.
“Many thanks for a great day last week at a Fire warden training. It was very informative and interesting. It was great to try and use all the fire extinguishers. I feel more confident now.”
